Biography

Katherine was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in January 2016 specialising in Family Law. She has extensive experience dealing in Divorce, Finances, Civil Partnerships and Cohabitation disputes. She has also regularly been instructed in complex and international Children Matters, both Public and Private law, including Adoption, Parental Alienation, Child Abduction and Alternative Family/ Assisted Reproduction matters including Posthumous Conception.

She has been regularly quoted in online articles including discussions on the law surrounding Surrogacy and has appeared live on both TV and Radio in conversations regarding Divorce Reform, and practice and procedure relating to Cohabiting Couples.

She has had many published articles in Family Law Journal and The Review on a range of matters including the requirements in children proceedings involving Domestic Abuse and the expectation on Judges and Local Authorities in Adoption Proceedings.

She is a confident advocate having obtained Higher Rights of Audience in Civil Litigation in 2015. She was accepted in 2018 as a transferring solicitor to be called to the Bar of England & Wales and is a non practising Barrister and member of Middle Temple.

She was called to the Cayman Islands Bar in 2019 and spent some time there working on complex, cross-border jurisdictional issues, and high net worth matters including nuptial agreements, trusts and estate management, and children and family related housing and immigration matters.

She has experience in Private Client matters including Wills and Probate, and also Matrimonial Conveyancing.

She is also an ADR Group Accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator taking instructions from clients in both East Africa and England & Wales, and she is training to become an Arbitrator with CIArb.
