Our Commercial Property team is renowned for delivering exceptional advice on property transactions. We are now looking for an ambitious and skilled Associate to join our growing Commercial Property team and help deliver excellent service to our clients.
The Role
As an Associate in the Commercial Property department, you will be responsible for advising clients on a broad range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, and development projects. You will work closely with senior colleagues, clients, and other departments to deliver expert legal advice and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Property Transactions: Advising clients on commercial property acquisitions, disposals, leases, and licenses, as well as providing support on development and investment matters.
- Client Advisory Work: Offering clear, practical, and commercially-focused legal advice to landlords, tenants, investors, developers, and other clients.
- Due Diligence: Conducting due diligence on commercial property transactions, including title reviews, contract negotiations, and managing risks.
- Drafting and Negotiating: Drafting and negotiating complex commercial property documents such as leases, agreements for lease, option agreements, and development agreements.
- Project Management: Managing your own caseload of matters, ensuring that deadlines are met and clients are kept informed at all stages.
- Business Development: Building strong relationships with clients, identifying new opportunities for business development, and supporting the firm’s marketing initiatives.
- Team Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, including Corporate and Dispute Resolution, to support clients on cross-disciplinary matters and contribute to the overall success of the firm.
Key Requirements
- Experience: A qualified solicitor with at least 2 years (PQE) in Commercial Property.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Commercial Property, including leases, acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant law, and development projects.
- Client-Focused: A practical, solution-oriented approach to advising clients, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional client service.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
- Negotiation Skills: Experience in negotiating and drafting commercial property agreements with a focus on achieving the best outcomes for clients.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support colleagues on complex matters.
