The Firm

We are now looking for a highly experienced and dedicated Head of Family Law to join our growing team and lead our Family Law department.

The Role

As the Head of Family Law, you will take the lead in managing and developing the Family Law team, ensuring the delivery of expert advice to clients in a wide range of family-related legal matters. You will be responsible for driving growth in the department, shaping the strategy, and enhancing the firm’s reputation in family law.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a dynamic team of family law solicitors, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Client Care: Deliver exceptional service to clients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
  • Case Management: Oversee a varied caseload involving divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements, domestic abuse, and prenuptial agreements, with complex legal issues.
  • Strategy and Business Development: Drive the growth and success of the Family Law department by developing and implementing strategic plans, and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Training and Development: Ensure that the team stays up to date with developments in family law and provide guidance and training to junior team members.
  • Marketing and Networking: Represent the firm at external events, networking opportunities, and in media, promoting the firm’s family law services.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: A qualified solicitor with at least 3 years (PQE) in family law, with a proven track record in managing a busy caseload and leading a team.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of all areas of family law, including divorce, children’s matters, financial settlements, and domestic violence cases.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop staff.
  • Business Development: A proactive approach to business development and a strong desire to contribute to the firm’s growth.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external contacts.
  • Client Focus: A genuine passion for providing high-quality, client-focused legal services with compassion and care.
