Our Charges?

Our charges are made up of:

a) Our fees for the legal work;

b) ‘disbursements’ – disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to other people, such as fees for a barrister’s opinion or help at Court. We handle the payment of the disbursements on your behalf to ensure a smoother process.

Our fees will either be agreed with you as a fixed sum at the start of your case or based on how much time it takes to deal with your case.

The hourly rate depends upon the experience of the fee earner handling the matter:

Details Hourly Rate
Director £300.00 per hour (Plus VAT)
Solicitors and legal executives with over 8 years’ experience £300.00 (plus VAT)
Solicitors, CILEX or Costs Lawyers with at least 4 years PQE £275.00 (plus VAT)
Other solicitors or legal executives and fee earners of equivalent experience £250.00 (plus VAT)
Trainee solicitors, paralegals and other fee earners £150.00 (plus VAT)

Where VAT is referred to below please note that this will be charged at the applicable rate, which is currently 20%.

What services are included:

  • Taking initial instructions and discussing your circumstances in detail. Considering the most appropriate application for you to make and what other options may be available to you.
  • Advising you on the requirements of the Immigration Rules and whether you meet the rules/guidance and specified evidence.
  • Advising on the method of submission of your application.
  • Considering and advising on the supporting evidence.

  • Advising you about the outcome of your application.
  • Attendance at a Home Office interview: if the Home Office ask you to attend an interview, we will give you clear advice (and discuss the possibility of us attending with you) at the appropriate time

All costs are subject to the addition of VAT of 20% and disbursements.

The above is an indication of the fees which you are likely to pay, however, if you provide us with full details of your matter, we can then provide you will a full quote.

The fees quoted do not include:

  • Any Home Office Fees for making the application.
  • Any other expenses such as: medical/expert evidence/barristers
  • Where the Home Office refuse your application, advice and assistance in relation to any appeals/reconsideration.
  • If there is an interview and we do attend with you, there will be additional fees for our work and disbursements in respect of our mileage/travel expenses.

Disbursements

You will need to pay for ‘disbursements’ in addition to our costs as described above. In an immigration matter the most common disbursements tend to relate to interpreter’s fees. Interpreters are not needed in many cases but if an interpreter is needed the hourly rate charge is normally about £50.00 -£100.00 plus vat per hour.  This is in addition to our fees as set out above. It is difficult to estimate what overall interpreter fees would be without knowing about the detail of your case. Please contact us for more information.

In most cases we do not need to instruct a barrister (specialists in attending and arguing at Court) on your behalf. If a barrister is needed then the barristers fee is likely to be in the region of GBP £1000.00 – £5,000.00 plus VAT, depending on the experience of the barrister and the complexity of the matter.

We do not normally need to incur the cost of preparing a medical report on your behalf but should this be required we will tell you straight away.

If there is an interview with the immigration authorities and you ask us to attend with you, there will be further disbursements for our travel costs.

How long will my case take?

Unfortunately, we do not have control over how long the Home Office take to process applications. However, you can view the current processing times online https://www.gov.uk/guidance/visa-processing-times-applications-inside-the-uk

The average time to submit your application to the Home Office is usually between 2-4 weeks depending on the complexity of your immigration history and providing we have all the information required. We shall aim to keep you updated as to the progress of your case at all times.
