Heart-shaped stone

Defining Domestic Abuse.

Domestic abuse can manifest in many forms, including the following:

  • Physical abuse
  • Isolating you from family and/or friends
  • Controlling your finances
  • Sexual abuse or coercion
  • Behaving in a controlling or threatening manner

A common misconception about domestic abuse is that is solely takes place between partners, and that male partners are always the perpetrator. Anyone can be a victim of domestic abuse, and not only men commit acts of domestic abuse.
